Abstract
Pelvic floor disorders are very common, and although usually not life threatening, they are a considerable cause of patient morbidity, and in some the effects on quality of life can be devastating. The anatomical and functional anatomy of the pelvic floor is highly complex, and imaging techniques are becoming increasingly sophisticated in order to provide the clinician with the necessary structural and functional information to optimize patient management. The Chapters by Professor Stoker, Professor Weishaupt, and Dr Reiner provide an excellent overview of the anatomical and functional information afforded by modern magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques in pelvic floor imaging.
