Il primo passo nell’interventistica urinaria fu di Goodwin, che nel 1955 ideò la procedura di nefrostomia percutanea. Da quella data le procedure interventistiche per l’apparato urinario si sono moltiplicate e, per merito dell’apporto tecnologico, oggi spaziano dalla nefrostomia percutanea allo stenting ureterale, all’ureteroplastica e al trattamento dei sanguinamenti renali e/o vescicali da traumi o neoplasie inoperabili.
