Come sostengo in questo capitolo, considero la psicoanalisi e le neuroscienze1 due discipline distinte, la cui collaborazione non può essere che vantaggiosa per entrambe; tuttavia dissento decisamente dall’idea che i progressi delle neuroscienze renderanno superflua la psicoanalisi, o che questi progressi non contribuiranno significativamente alla salute mentale, soprattutto nel campo degli psicofarmaci.
In questo saggio il termine “neuroscienze” si riferisce a tutte le scienze neurologiche
