The Pulmonary Vessels: A Modern Approach

  • Chapter
Diseases of the Heart, Chest & Breast

Abstract

Radiology has always been involved with the analysis of the pulmonary vasculature. A chest radiograph is a unique piece of information since it is the only radiographic examination that can depict veins and arteries without the need to inject a contrast agent. Instead, the natural contrast between the density of air and water permits excellent analysis of the vessels in the lungs.
