Abstract
Potential harmonics (PH) basis is the subset of HH, which is sufficient for expansion of two-body potential. It includes only two-body correlations. PH is appropriate for a sufficiently dilute system, in which only two-body correlations are relevant. Closed analytic expression for the PH is derived. Potential multipoles for this basis and overlap of PHs of different pairs are obtained. Use of symmetrized and unsymmetrized PH bases have also been discussed.
