Microstrip Patch Antenna with Defected Ground Plane for UWB Applications

Abstract

In this paper a compact microstrip antenna with substrate 22 mm × 27 mm using microstrip line feed is proposed. Two stubs are introduced in half ground plane to enhance the bandwidth of the antenna. Antenna covers the frequency range from 1.65 to 10.68 GHz. The antenna is proposed to achieve broadband characteristics. The antenna is fabricated on PCB and tested on Vector Network Analyzer. This antenna can be used for Ultra Wide Band applications.
