Abstract
This Paper presents the application of Single Phase Matrix converter as a Cycloconverter and Cycloinverter. Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) technique is used to generate control pulses for the Matrix Converter switches to produce output. The switching sequences for the Matrix Converter to operate as Cycloconverter and Cycloinverter are presented and evaluated using MATLAB/Simulink. The simulation results prove Single Phase Matrix Converter functionality as several power electronics converters by switching sequence via SPWM technique.
