The Mount Coffee Hydropower Plant was the single largest power generation unit in Liberia. The 14-year civil war between 1990 and 2003 saw the complete destruction of the project. The site was looted and vandalized, leaving the bare structure to narrate the tales of the unfortunate events. With the return to peace, the rebuilding and enlarging the hydropower project was put on high priority.
