A sensor is a device that senses modification in the basic conditions or in the state of another device or a system, and records this information in a definite approach. This chapter defines sensor and transducer and classifies various types of sensors available which provide feedback data to measurement systems. It also describes different sensors utilized for sensing specific parameter and shows how various sensors are used in industrial applications.
