Abstract

This is a review of the play “Partition” written by Ira Hauptman, dealing with life of the genius Ramanujan, how he came to England to work with G.H. Hardy and how the two collaborated to produce a most remarkable formula for the partition function.

This article appeared in The Hindu, India’s national newspaper, in May 2003.
