Abstract
A correlation between the superconducting (SC) transition and the antiferromagnetic (AF) spin fluctuations in a new SC copper thiospinel Cu1+xCo2−xS4 (x=0−0.5) was investigated microscopically by an NMR experiment at 75MHz in the range of T=4.2−200K. For x=0.5 (TN=19.0K, TC=2.3K), (T1 T)−1 of both 63Cu at A site and 59Co at B site are significantly enhanced with lowering T below ~100K. While, for x=0 (TN=17.5K TC=0), the (T1T)−1 enhancements are strongly suppressed. This indicates that the AF spin correlations grow significantly in the SC sample (x=0.5) than in the non-SC sample (x=0).
