Abstract

Although thrombolytic therapy is now widely used in acute myocardial infarct, its use in the acute phase of cerebral infarct is still under investigation, and large randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled efficacy trials are under way [1]. Since the first works of Sussman and Fitch in the late 1950s [2], there have been many attempts to evaluate the efficacy of thrombolysis administered during a limited period after an ischemic cerebral event.
