Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a group of oval curves called the cocoon curve and the cocoon surface. The existence of the cocoon curve/surface was proved by the present author in the course of the research on kinematics of a free-flying multi-link body in space. Because of the origin of the curve/surface, it has intrinsic properties of natural structural forms. The similar forms appeared in natural lives are introduced and an application to architectural design is introduced.
