Abstract

Gastric cancer is one of the main causes of cancer death in the world, though its incidence rates vary greatly from country to country. Because Japan shows one of the highest rates of gastric cancer in the world [1, 2], and because the disease causes the highest mortality in Japan in both sexes, great efforts have been made to promote early diagnosis and treatment, especially mass screening by double contrast radiography.
