Abstract
The performance is a key factor in real-time operating systems and its evaluations have been made by the vendors. However, their results are not compared because they have the following problems.
-
1)
Measurement items vary for each evaluation
-
2)
Evaluation results are affected by the environment such as hardware and compilers.
-
3)
Load effects such as the number of created tasks are not considered.
It is important for CTRON to solve these problems and define an evaluation method applicable to various products, because CTRON-based products may be implemented by many different vendors. This paper proposes an evaluation method for kernel products compliant with CTRON and shows some evaluation results and the effectiveness of this method.
