Summary
The stress response is a widely observed phenomenon in biological systems. Study of its molecular and cellular mechanisms can contribute to our understanding of the mechanisms by which cells adapt to environmental hazards. The studies on heat stress described in detail in this book comprise one of these contributions. In this review, molecular aspects of stress responses in general are widely surveyed for deeper understanding of their biological roles.
