Abstract
We investigated the pressure dependence of resistivity ρ and Hall coefficient R H of detwinned YBa2Cu3O7-δ crystals under hydrostatic pressure up to 2 GPa. The dramatic decreases in ρ and R H are primarily understandable, assuming that applied pressure induces additional carriers in both the CuO2 planes and the CuO chains, rather than the carrier transfer from the chains to the planes. This suggests the pressure-induced change in the electronic state, namely, delocalization of the bound carriers.
