Abstract

It is well known that intraarterial contrast-enhanced ultrasonography (US) is very useful in the diagnosis of biliary and pancreatic tumors. More specifically, in the elevated lesions of gallbladder, the debris has no blood flow, whereas neoplastic lesions or cholesterol polyps do. Particularly in the event of a malignant tumor, such as gallbladder cancer, it is known that large vessels directly flow into the tumor. Therefore, intraarterial contrast-enhanced US is useful in differentiating a benign from a malignant lesion.
