Applications of Magnetic Resonance Cholangiopancreatography

  • Chapter
MRCP

Abstract

Single thick slice MRCP using half-Fourier fast-spin echo techniques (HASTE, FASE, SSFSE) acquires a pancreatobiliary image within a few seconds and permits real-time observation of pancreatic juice secretion into the duodenum after intravenous injection of secretin [1–4]. A time-intensity curve can be plotted by calculating the total intensity of the gastric and duodenal fluid in various phases before and after secretin injection [4].
