Abstract
This review emphasizes the importance of the nanosheets in the state of colloidal dispersion for many applications such as soft materials and nanofabrication. The two important aspects of the nanosheet colloids are highlighted: liquid crystal phase formation and rheological properties. The theories related to these aspects are also described. As important techniques for many applications, we also introduce macroscopic orientational control by external fields and formation of multicomponent nanosheet colloids.
