Abstract
In the last decade, single-port laparoscopy (SPL) gained interest as well as the application of transanal laparoscopy for rectal diseases. Different transanal procedures have been described. One of the most attractive transanal laparoscopic surgeries remains the realization of the total mesorectal excision (TME). In this chapter, the transanal TME assisted by SPL, with both colorectal and coloanal anastomoses, is described. The single-access site will be finally used for the temporary ileostomy placement.
