Abstract

This chapter presents a summary of the research findings that have been discussed in the whole book and draws a conclusion by making some policy suggestions, specifically for villages like Taranagar. The author observes that the mitigation efforts in the village lack an integrated approach. Referring to the suggestions made by Kunikane (An integrated Approach to Arsenic Mitigation in Bangladesh, http://www.who.int/household_water/resources/kunikane.pdf, 2009), the author recommends that functioning of an efficient arsenic mitigation committee nominated by the villagers with financial support of the wealthy people was needed to ensure that all residents of Taranagar drink and cook food with safe water.
