The Influence of Mastication on the Dopaminergic System in the Rat Brain

Abstract

There are a few findings between reduced sensory input from mastication and neurochemical denaturation of the brain. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of different mastication on the dopaminergic system in the rat striatum using brain microdialysis (MD) and positron emission tomography (PET).
