In der Wissenschaft und Unternehmenspraxis herrscht Einigkeit darüber, dass Unternehmen langfristig nur bestehen können, wenn sie sich konsequent an den Bedürfnissen der Kunden orientieren und nachhaltige Wettbewerbsvorteile aufbauen. Der Marktorientierung wird deshalb eine „Schlüsselrolle für die Entstehung des Unternehmenserfolges“1 zugeschrieben. Eine Vielzahl empirischer Untersuchungen belegt die Erfolgswirksamkeit der Marktorientierung.2 Hieraus ergibt sich die unmittelbare Forderung, dass alle betrieblichen Aktivitäten im Dienste einer mfassenden Kundenund Wettbewerberorientierung stehen müssen.3 Vor diesem Hintergrund ist die konsequente Implementierung der Marktorientierung besonders relevant.4
