Zusammenfassung

Browsing through the Indian financial press one cannot escape headlines such as “FMCG major Nirma gears up for pharma foray” or “Indian pharma exports Rs 21,000 Crore in 2005-06, which is an annual growth of over 30 %”. India has the largest number of US Food and Drug Administration approved pharmaceutical plants outside the USA and every prominent Indian fund house is now offering a pharmaceutical sector focused fund. However, it is quite easy to loose focus and make wrong strategic decisions during this gold rush. To avoid this, we propose a set of basic but valuable principles based on the analysis of several Hidden Champions.
