Zusammenfassung
In den letzten Jahren hat sich die Diskussion um den Nutzen von IT für Unternehmen zunehmend in Richtung der Argumentation verlagert, dass es nicht die IT an sich, sondern deren Anwendung bei der Umsetzung von Geschäftsprozessen ist, die einen Unterschied für die Wertschöpfung eines Unternehmens ausmacht. Mit steigendem Anteil der IT an der Wertschöpfung, wachsen auch die Anforderungen für Flexibilität und Agilität an IT-Systeme und Anwendungen, denn es sind vor allem die Umsetzungsgeschwindigkeit und die Fähigkeit, auf Änderungen des Markts und des Geschäftsmodells zu reagieren, die wettbewerbsdifferenzierend wirken.
