Auszug

Die Bedeutung von Kognitionen für die Management- bzw. Strategieforschung hat seit ihren „zaghaften“ Anfängen in den 1970er Jahren (vgl. Axelrod 1976; Kirsch 1976; Bougon et al. 1977; Weick 1979; Kiesler/Sproull 1982) stark zugenommen und verzeichnet seitdem eine stetig wachsende Relevanz (vgl. Hodgkinson 2001b; Porac/Thomas 2002; Huff 2005). Ausgangspunkt hierbei bildet die Auffassung, dass Strategien zunächst „in den Köpfen“ von Managern entstehen. Um die Existenz und den Entstehungsprozess bestimmter Strategien zu erklären, erscheint es somit nur konsequent, an den kognitiven Prozessen und Strukturen von Aktoren in Unternehmen anzusetzen.
