Die Menge an Informationen, mit denen wir uns heute auseinandersetzen müssen, kann mit den früher üblichen Karteikarten nicht mehr erfasst und verwaltet werden. Aus diesem Grund wurden die Datenbanken ins Leben gerufen, welche die Erfassung und Verwaltung von Informationen ermöglichen.
