Abstract
Henkel adjusted its business approach early on to the challenges of sustainable development. From the start 1987, Henkel was determined to do all it could to reconcile economy with ecology and social responsibility and it becomes part of its corporate DNA. Accordingly, one of Henkel's values explicitly states that the company is dedicated to sustainability and corporate social responsibility. And by this, Henkel means that, with its brands and technologies and also in its role as employer, it is committed to meeting the needs of people today without jeopardising the development opportunities of future generations. In all three business areas, Laundry & Home Care, Cosmetics, and Adhesives, sustainability is seen as a motor driving product innovation.
