Zusammenfassung
Sowohl in praxisorientierten als auch in wissenschaftlichen Publikationen sind die Begriffe „Commodity“ und „Commoditisierung“ in zunehmendem Maße Gegenstand aktueller Diskussionen. Während unter Commodities in diesem Zusammenhang Leistungen verstanden werden, die aus Sicht von Nachfragern als austauschbar angesehen werden, bezieht sich der Begriff Commoditisierung vielmehr auf den Prozess, welcher dazu führt, dass Leistungen den „Status“ eines Commodities erlangen. Als typische Beispiele für Commodities werden dabei oftmals Konsumgüter, wie z. B. Papiertaschentücher oder Zucker, aber auch Industriegüter, wie z. B. Schüttgut, Stahl oder Chemikalien, angeführt.
