Zusammenfassung
Durch Ligandabspaltungen werden koordinativ ungesättigte Komplexe erzeugt. Die freie Koordinationsstelle mag in Lösung von einem Solvensmolekül besetzt werden. Wenn dieses in der Elektronenbilanz von M und bei der Ermittlung der Koordinationszahl nicht mitgezählt wird, vermindert sich bei diesen Reaktionen die Anzahl der Elektronen in der Valenzschale von M um zwei und sinkt die Koordinationszahl von M um eine Einheit.
