Zusammenfassung

Das Centrum medianum (CM) und der Nucleus parafascicularis (Pf) liegen eingebettet im hinteren Schenkel der thalamischen Medulla laminaris interna und werden deshalb auch als intralaminäre Kerne bezeichnet [14]. Diese Kerne wurden auch als diffuses thalamisch.es Projektionssystem bezeichnet, da bei fokaler Stimulation dieser Strukturen Signale von multiplen kortikalen Arealen abgeleitet werden konnten [4, 7, 10, 17]. Neuere Untersuchungen zeigen, dass reziproke Verbindungen zwischen den intralaminären Kernen und anderen kortikalen und subkortikalen Strukturen bestehen [9, 11, 13, 15], wobei diese Projektionen nicht diffus sind, wie ursprünglich angenommen wurde, sondern in erster Linie den frontalen und parietalen Kortex einbeziehen [5, 16, 17, 19]. Die intralaminären thalamischen Kerne und ihre Projektionen wurden zusammen mit den mittleren thalamischen Kernen unter dem etwas unscharfen Terminus nichtspezifisches thalamisches System (NSTS) zusammengefasst [8, 16].
