Zusammenfassung

Bereits im 19. Jahrhundert wurde vermutet, dass sensorische Beeinträchtigungen und besonders Hörstörungen zu einem gehäuften Auftreten psychiatrischer Erkrankungen führen (Köppe 1867). A. Cramer berichtete 1896 erstmals unter dem Titel „Sinnestäuschungen bei geisteskranken Taubstummen“ über einen Patienten mit prälingualer Gehörlosigkeit, der mit 28 Jahren paranoide Symptome und akustische Halluzinationen entwickelte (Cramer 1896).
