Abstract
A fully relativistic calculation of the πd →ηNN process, based on the leading diagram, is presented. The complete knowledge about the contributing vertices is taken into account. The role of the πN →ηN vertex was studied by using 1) only S 11, P 11, and D 13 partial waves single resonances, and 2) three coupled channel multiresonance unitary model for eight lowest partial waves. The final state NN interaction has been taken into account effectively using the Jost function recipe.
