Zusammenfassung
Die Erforschung der Frontallappenfunktion war dadurch erschwert, daß im Gegensatz zu den hinteren Hirnlappen einseitige Läsionen ziemlich gut von der Gegenseite kompensiert werden. Nauta (1971) wies auch auf das Fehlen von neurophysiolo-gischen Daten hin, die man durch sensorische Reize gewann. Beim Frontallappen handelt es sich aber um das höchste Zentrum für die Führung des aktiven Handelns, dazu mußte eine neurophysiologische Methode entwickelt werden, die vom aktiven Handeln ausging; dies war, als Nauta seine Übersicht schrieb, freilich schon geschehen (Kornhuber und Deecke 1964, 1965). Der präfrontale Cortex ist das Menschlichste am Menschen; denn zum vernünftigen Handeln gehört Gewissen. Auch phylogenetisch sind gewisse präfrontale Felder unsere jüngsten Erwerbungen (Spatz 1951). Es ist nicht verwunderlich, daß die Evolution diese Funktion nicht in die Nähe des Sehhirns oder des Tastcortex lokalisiert hat, sondern in Nachbarschaft zur Entscheidung über das Handeln. Daß der Fontallappen diese Führungsaufgabe hat, hätte man übrigens schon aus der Tatsache vermuten können, daß er das Hauptprojektionsgebiet des Hypothalmus und des limbischen Systems ist, der Gebiete also, in denen die vitalen Triebe lokalisiert sind.
