Zusammenfassung

Mit der Pionierleistung von Paul Broca in den 70er Jahren des vergangenen Jahrhunderts wurde die Suche nach Beziehungen zwischen Struktur und Funktion zu einem der faszinierendsten und umstrittensten Gebiet der Hirnforschung. Bis in die 80er Jahre dieses Jahrhunderts wurden diese Beziehungen aus Funktionsstörungen nach Läsion einer bestimmten Hirnstruktur abgeleitet. Die Einführung nicht-invasiver Methoden zur bildhaften Darstellung von Funktion und Struktur ermöglicht nun einen neuartigen Zugang zur Erstellung von Beziehungen zwischen Funktion und Struktur.
