Zusammenfassung

Es besteht weitgehend Konsens darüber, daß genetische Faktoren in der Vulnerabilität für Schizophrenie eine wichtige Rolle spielen (McGue und Gottesman 1991). Doch auch heute noch sind unsere fundamentalen Kenntnisse über Art und Umfang der genetischen Komponente, oder über den Transmissionsmodus sehr begrenzt. Die Tatsache, daß auch molekulargenetische Befunde, abgesehen von kaum replizierten Einzelerfolgen (Kendler und Dielh 1993), bisher eher negativ zu bewerten sind macht die Probleme der psychiatrischen Forschung, wie Heterogenität der Psychosen und die fragliche Bedeutung der Nosologie nur allzu deutlich.
