Zusammenfassung
Patienten mit zerebralen Funktionsstörungen, die durch lange Zeit nicht in der Lage sind peroral Nahrung zu sich zu nehmen, können durch eine Sonde enteral ernährt werden. Gegenüber einer parenteralen Ernährung bestehen wesentliche Vorteile: Die enterale Ernährung entspricht den ernährungsphysiologischen Vorstellungen, sie ist komplikationsärmer und letztlich auch um mehr als 50% billiger. Die Sonde kann dabei entweder im Magen oder im Dünndarm liegen.
