Zusammenfassung
Auf den ersten Blick scheint dieses Thema wenig Bezug zur genetischen Beratung zu haben, doch sind in der Praxis Umweltnoxen und deren Risiken aus vielerlei Gründen zu berücksichtigen. Zum ersten können sie in verschiedenen Diagnosen von Fehlbildungssyndromen enthalten sein. So muß z. B. eine Rötelninfektion als mögliche Ursache bei der angeborenen Katarakt in Betracht gezogen werden, und das Wiederholungsrisiko wird erheblich durch die Bestätigung oder den Ausschluß eines derartigen Agens beeinflußt. Zweitens können viele Noxen, die fetale Schäden in der Schwangerschaft verursachen, auch Mutationen auslösen und auf diese Weise schädigend wirken. Strahlung ist hierfür ein bekanntes Beispiel. Drittens muß geprüft werden, inwieweit zytogenetische oder pränataldiagnostische Tests bei der Bestätigung oder dem Ausschluß fetaler Schäden helfen können.
