Introduction

Abstract

In preparing this volume, I have attempted to cover each of the various aspects of what has become collectively known as The Interferon System. I have tried to include as much of the entire literature on this topic as possible, both from an historical perspective and an up-to-date account, so that this work will serve both as an introduction to the subject and as a comprehensive reference source for the field. Where it has not been feasible to include in depth discussion on each topic, I have attempted to reference ample literature; next to knowing is knowing where to find-out!
