Zusammenfassung
Das Interesse an „integrierten“ Robotern, also an Programmen mit simultanen Fähigkeiten in mehreren, traditionellerweise voneinander abgesetzten Forschungsgebieten der künstlichen Intelligenz — beispielsweise dem Problemlösen, dem Frage-Antwort-Bereich, der Verarbeitung von Bildern — hat eine fruchtbare Vereinheitlichungsbestrebung veranlaßt. Die Aufmerksamkeit gilt dabei besonders einer notwendigen Kommunikation zwischen den mehr oder weniger unabhängig in den obigen Bereichen arbeitenden Programmeinheiten. Eine Kommunikation erfordert eine gewisse Darstellungsweise, in der das zu Kommunizierende auszudrücken ist: der wichtige Gesichtspunkt beim integrierten Verhalten ist, daß die in verschiedenen Bereichen entwickelten Darstellungsarten kompatibel sein müssen, wenn eine effektive Kommunikation Platz greifen soll. Hat beispielsweise die Problemlösungseinheit eine von Blöcken sprechende Aufgabendarstellung, und kann die Bildinterpretationseinheit demgegenüber nur Regionen oder Regionsballungen zurückgewinnen, so dürfte ein sehr feinsinniger „Flicken“ notwendig sein, um beide Einheiten auf einen Nenner zu bringen.
