Electronic payment and additional utilization of smart cards in the tourism industry

Abstract

At first, some of the required improvements in electronic commerce are described. Cryptography is one measure therefore and already in use, e. g. to secure electronic payment. Some payment systems are listed. The application of smart cards facilitates not only the payment process, but also supports other functions in the tourism industry. Some of them are discussed in this paper.
