Zusammenfassung

Depressive Episoden im Rahmen saisonaler affektiver Störungen treten überwiegend im Herbst und Winter auf. Als zentrale Behandlungsmethode konnte in einer Reihe von Studien die Lichttherapie etabliert werden. Kürzlich konnten wir in einer Vergleichsstudie zeigen, daß auch der SSRI Fluoxetin eine wirksame Therapiemöglichkeit für diese Depressionsform darstellt [8]. Dabei untersuchten wir zugleich, welche Effekte die beiden Behandlungsansätze auf die peripher meßbaren Parameter der Hypophysen-Schilddrüsenachse haben.
