Abstract
The effects of systematic errors in data processing and in connection with the selection of the resolution value should be tested by changing the apodization functions, the phase correction procedure, and the extent of zero-filling. FT-IR spectra were recorded at a resolution of 1, 2, 4, and 8 cm−1 and calculated with different apodization functions (Boxcar, Fourpoint, Norton-Beer, Happ-Genzel, Blackman-Harris, Triangular). The influence of the number of data points and the phase correction procedure (Mertz method for single-sided interferograms and Power method for double-sided interferograms) on the band parameters is determined. We exhibit examples of FT-IR bands measured by using different spectrometers, different beam-splitters, and different detectors.
