Zusammenfassung

Störungen des Flüssigkeits- und des Elektrolythaushaltes sind im höheren Lebensalter nicht ungewöhnlich. Endogene Faktoren, geänderte Lebensumstände, Krankheiten, aber auch iatrogene Eingriffe sind für solche Störungen verantwortlich (Miller 1991). Ob es nun zu einer Veränderung der Flüssigkeitshomeostase oder zu einer Störung im Elektrolythaushalt kommt, stets wird das gesamte System des Flüssigkeits- und Elektrolythaushaltes in Mitleidenschaft gezogen (Tragi 1986, Miller 1987).
