Zusammenfassung

Im Band II dieses Handbuchs hat Hilgers die saprophytischen und pathogenen Bakterien der Haut beschrieben und dabei 3 Gruppen unterschieden:

  1. 1.

    „Ubiquitäre Keime, die im mechanischen Vorgang, ohne mit der Grundlage in Wechselwirkung zu treten, auf belebten und unbelebten Gegenständen sich niederlassen“ (Anflugskeime, praktisch alle in Luft, Boden, Staub, Wasser vorkommenden Bakterien).

  2. 2.

    „Keime, welche die Körperdecke als Nährsubstrat verwerten und bei ihrer Haftung einen Lebensvorgang auslösen (Hamburger)“ (Haftkeime, einige wenige wohlcharakterisierte Arten; Staphylococcus epidermidis albus Gordon).

  3. 3.

    „Keime, die, aktiv oder passiv auf die Haut gelangt, hier haften, um dann je nach ihrer Virulenz und dem immunbiologischen Verhalten des Organismus, speziell der Hautdecke, solange als reine Epiphyten zu leben, bis sie zugrunde gehen oder als Invasionskeime in die Tiefe des Hautgewebes eindringen“ (Invasionskeime, durchlaufen alle 3 Stadien).
