Abstract

Fractures of the distal humerus are usually defined as involving the portion of the humerus distal to the origin of the anterior bra-chialis muscle. The mechanism of injury is either direct with the elbow flexed or, more rarely, indirect with the elbow extended. The latter is more commonly responsible for elbow dislocation in the adult.
