Abstract

In the Burdenko Neurosurgical Institute of AMS of the U.S.S.R. there has been developed a method of catheterization and vessel occlusion with the help of a detachable balloon catheter. The method appeared to be very effective and has been used extensively in the leading neurosurgical clinics of the country. Today it is being further developed in thoracic and abdominal surgery.
