Zusammenfassung
Die Vorstellung, dass sich Immundefizienz („zuwenig Immunabwehr“) und Autoimmunerkrankungen („zuviel Immunabwehr“) gegenseitig ausschließen, ist aufgrund unserer heutigen Sicht falsch. Eine immunologische Regulationsstörung kann die Grundlage für die Immundefizienz darstellen und direkt oder indirekt eine Autoimmunerkrankung zur Folge haben. Verschiedene Formen von Abwehrschwächen sind häufig mit Autoimmunerkrankungen assoziiert. Patienten mit erblichen Defizienzen im Komplementsystem entwickeln häufig Vaskulitiden, Glomerulonephritis und/oder einen SLE bzw. eine SLE-ähnliche Erkrankung. Mütter von Kindern mit septischer Granulomatose, insbesondere bei der X-chromosomal vererbten Form, können discoiden Lupus entwickeln.
