Während der Bohrarbeit ist der hydrostatische Druck der im Bohrloch befindlichen Spülung mit dem Gebirgsdruck im Gleichgewicht. Die Spülung hat darüber hinaus noch die Aufgabe, das Einströmen von flüssigen und gasförmigen Medien, die in den porösen Gesteinshorizonten gespeichert sind, zu verhüten.
